Workers exposed to asbestos at the Palace of Westminster

At least 117 people were at risk of exposure to asbestos during renovation works at the Palace of Westminster.

Parliamentary staffers and renovation work contractors are among those who have been warned they may have been exposed between October and November 2021.  There was a temporary pause to the  works so that “lessons learned from this incident are rapidly implemented.”  The asbestos was discovered in the Speaker’s apartments.
