Lee Ypey joined Global as a lead surveyor in March 2013, bringing with him hands-on practical knowledge of surveying of all types of commercial, public sector and industrial buildings including CLASP. In June 2013 he was promoted to our Management Team and now project manages a number of key accounts.
As a Project Manager he is responsible for agreeing the scope of survey works prior to the start of a project and ensuring delivery of works on scope and on schedule. Resource management, scheduling and allocating work to surveyors, liaising with the client’s asbestos officers and contracts managers/surveyors from the refurbishment contractors, and quality control of final survey reports prior to issue are also a part of his remit.
“Lee has been with us for over three years now,” says Global’s Managing Director, Fergus McCloskey, “and has repeatedly demonstrated his experience of successfully scheduling and facilitating survey programmes in the public sector including education and municipal works. His excellent communications skills allow him to liaise with all levels of stakeholder from the client and asbestos compliance officer to the facilities managers, project managers, technical staff and any third parties, which is a valuable asset in this role.”
Lee joined Global from Environmental Scientifics Group in Swindon where he spent 9 months as a lead surveyor carrying out R&D and Management surveys of social housing (residential and communal areas) as well as municipal buildings for the local authority. His qualifications include BOHS P402, Energy assessment (Domestic & Non-Domestic) and Green Deal assessment (Domestic & Non-Domestic). He is currently studying towards a degree in Environmental Management & Technology with the Open University.
When he is not managing Global’s work load, Lee likes to travel and explore different cultures, play and watch sports, and relax at music festivals.
