Fergus McCloskey | Managing Director
Fergus joined the board at Global in 2011 tasked with developing the business and marketing for the company. This encompasses brand development and the diversification of the company’s core skills base from asbestos surveys and management to include energy assessments, fire risk management, DDA compliance and water hygiene.
Through working closely with clients he has developed an appreciation and knowledge of the environmental process which he uses to help shape strategy and business development at Global.
Fergus comes from a background in PR and has been running Handmade Marketing, a consultancy which specialises in developing business in the Construction Sector, since 2009. He holds a BA Hons in Social Science.
Michael Gunn | Operations Manager
Global Environmental was pleased to welcome Michael Gunn to the team at the start of 2018. He joins us from Adamsons Laboratory Services where, latterly, he was a Quality Manager, ensuring that asbestos services met internal and external standards. As well as managing day-to-day queries that come into the office regarding new and on-going work, Michael is responsible for the supervision of Global’s team of asbestos surveyors and also more specific issues arising from complex surveys and projects.
James Marston | Quality Manager
James boasts over 20-years’ experience in the asbestos sector. He joined Global Environmental in November 2023 after spending 6 years as an Asbestos Consultant and Surveying Manager at Bauer. His career started in September 2003 when he joined the EMS Group as a trainee asbestos administrator/surveyor. During a 3-year stint at Mainstream he qualified as a surveyor (P402) and bulk analyst (P401) before moving to Clearwater and then Environtec for 6-year and 5-year spells respectively.
James hands-on multidisciplined experience and knowledge of the discipline makes him an ideal asbestos Quality Manager. His responsibilities include site witness and re-inspection auditing, tech review, training and maintaining our ISO 17020 accreditation with UKAS.
His qualifications include: P401, P402, P403, M504
Paul Scholes | Health & Safety Manager
Paul has over 33 years’ experience in the asbestos sector and has project- managed complex decontamination projects for numerous key developments in London. In that time he has gained a comprehensive knowledge of the issues and legislation relevant to remediating asbestos from commercial, residential and public sector properties both as a consultant and working for licenced contractors.
Paul is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Safety and Health (CMIOSH).
Leigh Dennison-Jones | Contract Administrator
Leigh joined Global Environmental in March 2020 as a Contracts Administrator. She has years of experience working in varied office-based roles, from Reception and Sales Admin to Finance. This also includes working as a PA for a large multi-national pharmaceutical company. Her experience of event planning, customer contracts and supporting field-based representatives makes her perfect for the role at Global, utilising her excellent communication, administrative and data skills.
Leigh will typically be the primary point of contact both externally and internally, managing enquiries, bookings, invoice prep and processing samples prior to testing.
